Introduction

Background

As a constituent Technical School of CTEVT, Shankharapur Polytechnic Institute is the second running government TEVT Institution in Kathmandu valley. It is located at very beautiful place Shankharapur Municipality ward no. 6, 17 km away from middle of Kathmandu city.  It offers three years courses in Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Geomatics Engineering and Hydropower Engineering. Besides, number of short-term vocational trainings of varied subjects and duration are also major part of its responsibilities.

The school covers 65 Ropani of land accommodating Administrative/Academic Block, Laboratories/workshops, canteen and principal quarter. Office space as well as class rooms are well equipped and well furnished. Altogether SPI accommodates 96 students in regular programs.

It was established in 2016 to provide opportunities to the people of all over the country to train in technical education and vocational training so that they can improve their standard of living as well as contribute in all over development. In order to ensure easy accessibility for people from remote areas, the Institute has allocated some quotas for the janajati, mahila, and disadvantages group all over country. The school has been offering TEVT civil engineering and Geomatics Engineering right from its established.
