Shankharapur Polytechnic Institute (SPI) was established in 2016, to provide quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the nation. It is the Council for technical education and vocational training (CTEVT) constituent institute which is a national autonomous apex body of the TEVT sector. Located 17 km Northeast of Kathmandu, the institute offers a pleasant, calm, and quiet environment for teaching and learning as well as easy accessibility to reach from the capital city.
It offers 3 years of diploma courses in Civil engineering, Civil engineering specializing in Hydropower, Geomatics engineering, Automobile engineering, and Architecture engineering. Annually short-term courses are hosted by the institution within the premises as well as the localities which lie within the buffer area of the institute by collaborating with the stakeholders and local authorities. Major short-term courses we have been providing include Beautician, mason, carpentry, Barista, plumbing, etc. in order to offer invaluable academic experience using our facilities and state-of-the-art technology, and practical experience so the graduates get ready for the working world, the institute is equipped with sufficient tools and equipment along with a strong and professional instructional team. The student-Instructor ratio is significantly low to make sure that the students get the involvement they need with proper guidance. SPI graduates have contributed significantly to the nation’s economic and industrial growth and many are now well-known entrepreneurs which shows the excellence of Shankharapur polytechnic institute.
